DOES ANYONE KNOW - WMVHD to mp4/mkv/avi (PS3)

Anyone know how to transcode this fileformat? WMV-HD into a useable ps3 format? i've searched for so long and found nothing, perhaps someone else has had joy?

mate, have you used this program before?

i'm running a conversion between wmvhd 2 hour movie to divx avi 1920*1080 23fps and it's expecitng a 16hour turnaround? is this normal? wasn't expecting it to take that long tbh.

Do you have any recommended settings you could throw at me for striaght through 1080p conversion? for the ps3 obviosuly.

it will take ages as its a totally different format it not just simply changing teh container type

16hours on a quad core running 3.2ghz box 4 gig of ram? pretty mental that it takes that kind of time. Suppose i'll let it finish!

its alot of data per second but tbh you would be better off looking for it in another format on newsgroups

Use some of the Videohelp authoring/conversion guides, certainly some settings you can use to influence it.

But as bunny said it's a big old conversion.

or you could play it on a 360 as that is one of the formats it can handle.

i run my 360, a ps3, and freecom media streamer, and a media centre pc, and i use all of them at one time or another for different things.

lol but i've managed to get the ps3 to do EVERYTHING so i'm happy if this works, ok i'll post back in another 12 hours see how i get on, i imagine i'll need to tinker, atm i'm runnign uncompressed everything to HD avi, see how it goes

i knew it! you guys!!! running uncompressed from a compressed source you'd think it would end up the same as the original...bope, 17% through 186GIG!!!! cancelled running as a bluray shrink equivalent, 2.36 hours....to go!!
