does anyone on here work for virgin media?

basically i moved into a flat 3 months ago and took out a virgin media contract for phone/broadband/tv.

now 3 months on i find out that the landlord hasn't paid the mortgage and the flat is being reposessed so i am having to move out, which in itself isn't an issue cos i've found a much nicer place and everything is fine.

what is an issue though is that the new place isn't in a cable area so obviously we will be going for sky tv and probably *be for our broadband.

now as far as virgin are concerned we have taken out a 12 month contract, and they want us to continue the contract in the new place, but on their bt line based broadband service, and their freeview based tv service. i really don't want to do this as both are cr@p.

they want £20 per service per month to buy my way out of the contract, so effectively it will cost me £360 to get rid of virgin.

how can i avoid this?

is their nothing in the terms, or legally in general, which specifies they must be able to provide you with said product

also what planet are they on, who would pay £20 a month for freeview, or am i missing something ?

basically what they are offering isnt to the same level of the service you signed upto

Exactly, the only way they can keep you is if you move to another area in which they can offer you the same service. They are changing the service they provide hence you are able to escape the contract with no penalty.

Tell them to get shafted TBH.

you can drop your packages down to the very basic options, but whatever you do do not take out there ADSL offering as it is s**t and there are better deals out there & BE is one of them.
