Door Handles..anyone pulled them apart to paint

Need to tart up my door handles..

Anyone actually pulled the two bits apart to do this. The bar holding the two bits looks very compression once only fit.

Yeah. Its not too bad, take the little clip off and prise the spring off with a small screwdriver.
