how easy are exterior door handles to change? because I was looking at buying colour coded ones for my car.

with the handle on the outside of the car? you need to get the door card off?

I think i know how to get the door card off, but i remember reading somewhere that getting the mechanisms to unclip and go back onto the new handle are a pain in the arse?so should just be whip the door cards off, undo the exterior handle from the inside, unclip from mechanism, clip new one on, door card back on?

what would you say is a good price for a pair of colour coded door handles? is £31 posted cheap or expensive?

Roughly remembering how much I paid for DIY handle colour coding on my 1.2:
Spare handles £9 (easier then sell the unpainted ones after), Halfords filler primer £6, colour £6, clear £6...
Adds up fast, unless your planning on DIY colour coding a lot of things and using any left over paint for other jobs, I would go with the £31.

ok so i've got em, and and got the door card off and have got to the under side but cant get this clip off!
looks like you're meant to pinch them together and it pushes through, but i've tried pinching it together with my fingers and mole grips but can't get it off!
