Door is clunking

Car  172 Ph1/Scooby MY00
My drivers side door is clunking every time I shut it. It's coming from the door strap. I've removed the star screw to get at it better and tried cleaning it and re-oiling, putting grease on it etc and nothing seems to fix it. Does anyone know what the cause is, what's worn and what needs to be replace/cost?

Cheers

by clunking you mean is it not lining up with the catch when it is closing?
may have the same problem, wind caught the door once and its never been the same since!

Yeah, could be it's not lining up right. When it's shut though it looks fine (gap looks the same as the other door) so dunno really.

Cheers

exaclty when mine shuts its on the catch so obv just as it would be normally all lined up and correct. I think the remedy involves wedging the hinge and the door and applying some pressure to straighten it up.

I'm planning to take it to Alex at Carlton in Exmouth (which is where I live) when I'm back from working away 'up country'. I'll let you know what he does to fix it.
