Door Prevented From Closing

  CLIO 1.2 EXTREME
After bumping my car through somebodies garden wall :dapprove:
I bought a new bumper, door and pulled some of the damage out of my back quarter, I have now been left with another problem,
'There's always something'

When you go to close the door it's prevented from closing now i struggled to put the new door on due to what im guessing is the hinge bent, To close the door you have to push it to then lift it up and push again for it too close but then when it does there's a gap in the top seal, which when you hit 30mph is equivalent to AC on full.

Now I was thinking the hinge has pushed in a little from the bump so should I hit it from the inside? or get a winch cable and go through the hole where the wires are, tighten it and pull it out.

You cant really see much here.

There is a dent under the locking mechanism, this isn't the reason it won't close though is it?
I do need a new back quarter but when the door closes i can drive it and fix that next month, gota keep it cheap ;D

you know where the door catches onto inside the rear quarter, take it off completely, should just be 2 torx bits, now try closing the door, is it flush? is it too high? too low? twisted at the top? if theres no adjustment on the hinges then try adjustment on the bit that bolts to the door (if it aint welded) should be 2 13 mil bolts on both hinges., by the gap in the top id adjust the top one first

if the door DOES shut ok and it aligns up fine, then your latch needs adjusting or the quarter is twisted where the latch sits, just trial and error, see whats twisted first and what can be adjusted to compensate

Yeah i know what you mean, kinda trial and errored with the hinge on the door but it is welded, so couldn't really move it with anything :S and to get that bottom bolt in was a bitchhh!!!!! so im kinda thinking that the bottom one which is welded on has slightly moved, Also how do you take the rear quater off? Iv'e never removed one when i pulled the damage out just did it with it on. Aren't they welded?
Cheers

no dont take the quarter off lol

you see the gold thing that the door catch catches onto on the B post, take that off, 2 torx bits, see if the door will just push close and see if its straight, see if the door is flush

if its out at the top but ok at the bottom and you know the door aint twisted then its the hinges on the A post which need pulling out. can be difficult if you aint got a dozer but you can do it sometimes with a chain and a sledgehammer, or a chain hooked onto the back of a car if youre feeling brave, but you want to pull it straight, the chain has to be level as you dont want to bend the hinge further down or upwards, you just want it out, hard job to do if youre doing it on your drive

and does it need a new quarter or you filling it? cause it looks squashed into the B post from that bottom pic which could prevent the door from shutting and why it would stick out at the top

ha, was thinking i cannot grind my quarter off :O
yeah i will take it off and test the door sometime today, gota jetwash the drive first, mums not happy about the mess iv'e made  see what I can come up with and yeah i know what your talking about me and my mate was just guna pull the bottom hinge out with a winch, but we gathered that would be a bad decision if it went wrong haha.
& im probably guna get a new back quater next month but funds are low this month so cant afford it yet

I took it off and it is the welded on hinge that's bent, dont fancy trying it myself haha, and probably would be there all day trying to get it perfect. so spoke to this guy from the local welder/garage i know and he said he'll sort it out for pretty cheap so might be my easiest option, CHEERS ;D
