Down shifting...

Hi all, the problem I have with my 2002 plate 172 is when I'm changing down gears (4th to 3rd) it crunches slightly... Only been doing it since yesterday afternoon. It doesn't do it when changing up (2nd to 3rd) or changing down into any other gear. Just wondering if this is the start of a shagged gearbox?

Any help would be appreciated.

Bit extreme.

Change fluids, get your linkage checked first and it might be a good sight better.

Mine was shatty when i got it, spesh' when driving aggressively.

Changed the gb oil for some good quality Silkolene and it honestly went away......it does make a difference........

That depends on what speed you're travelling at, surely.
