I am no drifter but i don't see a lot of skills there ;)

How are they idiots? lol if it was on a public road out side a Mc Donalds, I would see the need for them to be called idiots. but there on a track doing what they love?

If they wereusing these 600hp cars to there potential and actually racing and getting a bit sideways out of the bends then yeah!!!... credit to them for holding onto it... but... just seems like a waste of time... how are you supposed to judge that?? they are all doing the same thing!...

not going on this video but drifting is actually judged pretty well....

they judge on
speed
entry angle
mid corner angle
amount of smoke
linking drifts
how technical the drift is

and then the crowd also make a huge part of the judging, when tsuido is ran (twin drift 2 cars) car a will lead first with car b following, car b has to put as much pressure as possible on to car a and try to overtake during a drift, then its reversed car b leads and car a follows applying pressure, it might look unfair running a 600bhp skyline against a 180bhp ae86 but its pretty well balanced the 86 can drift tighter and normally hit the corners at a faster speed, which it needs to do to get the drift, but the skyline can use its power etc....

it takes a huge amount of skill and its far from pointless or stupid...

Brave, i would love to go and watch this with this amount of cars on track it looks like skillfull mayhem.

I wont go into discussions but im just gonna say that going sideways on this level requires a LOT of skill, especially when doing twin drift (here is a whole bunch of cars doing that simultaneously) so I assume that the people who are negative about the video never tried anything similar.

Go out, try it and then write an opinion - dont be so negative ;)
