Drilling Airbox??



  Clio 1.4 16v
I have heard of numerous reports of people drilling their airbox's, which part of the box are they refering to when they say this and what diffenece will it make on the car??

or burgerking ... which ever is closest really ....
seriously it improves noise but your sucking hot air in and it will sap your power

Saw a thread on here earlier where somebody said they had done it and put another cold air feed for the holes

Thought it sounded a silly idea, just checking as I'm always one to try out the low cost mod, ussually with no success :(

Got the exhaust, was meant to be having de-cat last week, but turns out its not reallly possible to do one for my car. D4ve off of here is going for the sports Cat so I am going to wait until he has got that and then probably buy one depending on his verdict.

Had induction kit before, liked the noise for all of about two minutes until I realised the performance loss and flogged it on ebay

Ah....stick with the exhaust matey...you wont hear much if any induction noise over an exhausts anyways.

chris at silver systems sorted me my sports cat on the 1.2. so he can deffo do one for the 1.4. its welded in, so non-transferable, but in being a sports cat theres no need to remove it. give him a bell and see what he says

got 84.something at 6,001 rpm on one of the mobile units at the chester meet. torque curve was actually totally flat tho :approve:

never actually run it on a proper rolling road yet, but practising ready for the quarter mile at trax lol

hubcaps, components, and half car respray all on the cards for the next few months. then ill waste some money on brakes and roll cage no doubt lol
