Bonjour France...

Just a small stop off on the way to campsite....pics do the talking..

Home for a week....

The next day,we went to Sword beach,D-day landing site for the british......Very moving.

You can see Juno and Gold in the distance.

Stopped off at moyaux....a small village liberated.

Heavy downpour on friday....tent next door got flooded out,had to move to an upgraded tent.

On the way back home we visited here....First town liberated by the british....at a cost of many brave men.

We caught the evening ferry back home,got back to england/portsmouth about 10pm...I had filled up the clio on the monday just outside Portsmouth,didnt refil til saturday just outside Ranville,tank wasnt quite empty.I had managed 45.1 average mpg,covered 694 miles at an average speed of 34.6....pretty good for a 16v 2.0....

I`ll definately do the trip again....there were places that i didnt go and visit like....st-mere eglise.And i`ll take our own tent too so we can move from place to place.

Apart from the language(which i can just about accomplish)..its a great place to go and getting out and about was easy.I only payed for one parking spot while i was there and that was 2 euros for 4hrs,filled the car before i came back home,98ron fuel,brimmed it and only cost me 46 quid...tank was nearly empty.
