Driveshaft problem/knocking noise?

I had a knocking noise coming from my n/s front when pulling away slowly and turning right. After investigation it was determined that my CV joint had gone. One new driveshaft later and the noise has gone.

Or has it?

The noise is still present despite changing the driveshaft a week ago, although it is not as bad as it was before. Is there anything else that could be causing the problem? I've also got to replace the ABS sensor now, something that wasn't a problem until my driveshaft went.

The whole driveshaft.

No I haven't checked the other one, but the noise is coming from the n/s, so why would the o/s be a problem?

Sorry I thought you meant you could still hear a noise, didn't realise you meant in the same place. Have you checked the ball joint and track rod ends? My ph1 was making a 'clunk' sound when setting off and it turned out to be a ball joint not tightened properly.

Having it looked at tomorrow. Had a look today and there's oil around the inner boot of the driveshaft, so maybe this 'new' driveshaft is fucked. Will have a look at the ball joint too. Cheesrs Bren

I had a driveshaft fitted that ended up being 10 times worse than the one I had removed on my car earlier this year. Annooying.

After inspection it appears that the arb d bushes are perished and this could be the problem.

No idea. Just what I've been told by the mechanic. Quoted around £200 fitted including parts.

That's with all the labour involved apparently. Going to see what other places quote me.

You can fully powerlex the front ARB for less than that... But still why would that be the cause of the noise? I wouldn't be surprised that after having the bushes replaced you still have the noise.

Mines got a strange noise when pulling away on lock (like out of a T-junction) sounds like a "knock, knock, knock, knock, knock" happens both Right and Left lock... Fully powerflexed cleaned and checked CV joints and boots yet the noise remains... Im guessing Drive shafts.... £250 a pops not nice!
