Driveshaft question

Cro

Need to replace my drivers side shaft, are there any differences between the ph1 + 2 172, 182 and cup models?
Need one from a ph2 172 non cup, any others fit?

Its a bit of a grey area. If you compare a 172mk1 shaft to a late 182 shaft there are a number of differences. Not sure if they all have the same length and dimensions though.

Hmmm, i'll just try and source one from another ph2 172 then to be safe. Any idea if theres a difference between the cup and non?

I do know that renault have revised the shafts with better clips since the original ones off the 172 Ph1 and 2. Maybe the 182 has the revised clips?

Probably be reet with any RS shaft tbh:D

Yeah the clips and gaitors are differnt, also the ends of the shaft that house the cv joint are a differnt design. The abs rings also look beefed up a bit.

Whats the vehicle type codes for a 172mk2 and a cup, ill see if the part numbers are different on dialogies..??

If your getting the driveshaft done by a garage make sure they specifically order a 172 driveshaft and not just a clio one as surprisingly enough they dont fit.Had my driverside one done last month and thats the mistake the garage made.Goes alot better now the new one is on
