Driving a lowered clio around Sheffield?

Hi
I want to lower my mk3 ph2 clio on 40mm springs to make the arch gap less offensive and improve handling but i'm worried about the roads around sheffield. I am a delivery driver so spend a good amount of time driving around streets in S11, S6, S10 etc. The roads feel very uneven and the car rolls around a lot, but i've never driven a lowered car so i don't know if the stiffer suspension would stop my bumpers hitting the road.
I know it would be much easier to leave it standard but my weekly commute to manchester involves snakes pass so i'd really like the get the handling nicer for that and improve looks.

I've seen loads of RS clios around S11 and plenty of lowered cars, how do you all get on? Is it easily manageable?

Cheers
Dom

You will be fine, I used to drive around Sheffield and my Clio is lowered ~50mm on coilovers.
Lowered suspension is manageable, you will soon figure out where to avoid pot holes and exceptionally large speed bumps

That's exactly what I wanted to hear, I'd have little problem avoiding potholes as they are easy to see mostly, it's the uneaven dips in the roads, I'll give it a try I think, it's easy enough to switch back

I was down about 70mm on a mk2 and had plenty before touching bumps with the bumpers around sheffield and rotherham, as mentioned the main suffering will be the stiff ride which can be uncomfortable at times!

If it's only 40mm on springs then it should be barable
