Drying your car???

  Golf MK7,GSX-R600 L4
I've been using a chamy thing from halfords for ages now but i've noticed it leaving veryvery light marks on the car ... like swirls but in a straight line, if that makes sense!:S I'm sick now cos when the sun shines direct on the paintwork it really exposes these lines:mad:

What do you people recommend I dry my car with? thx

Waffle Weave drying towel to dry and spray with some QD to make it easier.

Tried a few and I'd say that this or this have been the best so far.

You could do the CD test on the towel to make sure that it won't scratch the paintwork. Do this by running the towel over the CD and if it marks the CD then it's not safe to use for a scratch free finish. Quite a few people have had problems with the Meg's Water Magnets.

I use an Autoglym Aquablade which I wipe over with a Chamois after every stroke, then follow it up with a wipe over with the Meg's Water Magnet Towel

i personally wash then drive quick for 5 mins return then pad dry with a waffele weave and a quick detailer to help, i use the sonus der wonder ben pointed out below, chemical guys have a drying towel too , and poorboys waffle weave is very good, i found and many other that the meguirs is very hard after a few washes and can scratch,
i prefer not to use an aquablade as can scratch the car if any dirt is around it

  A slow one :-(
Rich - I've seen these mentioned a couple of times on DW.

Are they worth the cash? How long do they last for?

I'm sort of tempted to purchase on myself.

Like you say Eddie tempted myself, do you wash the car as normal and then rinse down with the filter attached?

Johnny from C&S reckons his has lasted a year so far. Not had mine long enough to know.

I have been rinising the car as normal and sheeting of the water as best I can with a open ended hose. Then I fill two watering cans with the filtered water and rinse the car with them. Allow the car to drip dry, quick lap round the block wipe the bits that run out of the mirrors with a plush MF. Job done.

How do you know which one you need Rich, being either the 0ppm or the 30ppm? Is the 0ppm the better one of the two if the water isn't too hard?

Cheers Rich.

If you can get spot free results on the black then it's got to be worth it, especially if it lasts that long.

rich without sounding dumb mate what do you do connect this up to your hose and then disconnect when you've finished rinsing down the car??

I Just connect it to fill a couple of watering cans yes. Use it connected all the time and it will soon be exhausted.

Not having to dry means less chance of marring. Still follow up with Zymol Feild Glaze though.

I just got the new MASSIVE mf drying towel from Car Wash N Wax and its excellent, much better than the waffle weave I would say. Dry the whole car in a few minutes and no chance of scratching at all.

Seriously though it is bigger than my bath towel! Try it...

Sonus der wunders are very good, i still might have the odd 2 pack left for sale also
