DS Lite, anyone have one yet?

I bought one yesterday, and I must say I'm impressed.

I went for a black one (beautifuly glossy), and I chose "brain traning" as my first game.

Surround sound, wifi, touch-sensitive dual screen as you know... battery lasts AGES...

110 squid including game isn't bad at all!


Roll on a few weeks, there will be an opera browser availble for it - cheaper and better than any PDA's own web browser (due to dual-screens).


I'm also considering a compact-flash MP3/Movie player.

I love my DS (chunky edition), been playing for over a year now and not even close to getting bored. I highly recommend Zoo Keeper if you see it cheap.

Traded in my normal DS for a black Lite. Well worth it imo! Try and get Metroid Prime too.....

The screen is superb compared to the DS. The corner still digs into the palm of my hand though, but so did the original DS.

Book reader? Sorry, I don't know what that is.

I have a programmable cartridge for the DS, and I have a program that takes .txt files, and shows them on screen. You hold the DS sideways like a book, and read it like a book

Not too hot to be honest, Although I seem to be able to pull it off when its really needed.

I do admit though I have been utterly HAMMERED online before now by some Japanese players.

Oms, you can play online without the need for any additional equipment if you already happen to have a wireless router. If you don't you need a little dongle thing iirc.

I've got a Media Player from Lik-Sang which you can store and watch books/videos/photos etc on etc, only £13 and good if you already have the appropriate memory cards for your camera anyway.

How difficult is it to play online?

Very easy if you know your router's Wifi settings. Some routers require special attention to detail (such as my one), so are a fiddle to setup.



If not, go for the USB dongle which connects to your PC. That's quite easy to setup from what I understand.


I've played mariocart against people in other countries... A good laugh when playing the computer gets too easy.
