ds2500 vs greenstuff

  172 cup
I currently have ebc greenstuff pads with 310mm prima racing discs. They are pretty crap + have eventually worn out.

As I dont seem to be able to get 310mm brembo disc to fit I am looking at yozzasport 280mm brembo kit with either DS2500 or greenstuff pads.

Up until now I have only used my car on the road, but may be doing my 1st trackday soon.

I know a lot of people on love ds2500s, are they a lot better than greenstuffs?

Also what are they like for brake dust + squeeking?

Yes, alot!

With regards to dust, i have only had 3 different pads, std,g/stuff and the ds2500s, these seem to make more, not so much that i care.

Squeaking, a lot of people say there’s squeak a lot, mine generally dont tbh, unless i press the brake pedal really lightly, this could be down to the grooves on my disks (Max), but don’t know for a fact.

Are your 310mm pads just via a spaer don't forget as 280mm disks ar a different size and won't fit right unless you have the right carrier etc or whatever they used to make the big disks work.

Personaly I'd go with ds2500 only realy. They do squek a bit but nothing much depends how picky and how you drive and brake.
Why did you use 5.1? I though most people stick with dot 4? or is there a difference with 172/182?
Dot 4 is fine for 172/182 cars.

With the prima racing 310mm kit I had new carriers for the calliper. I still have the originals renault carriers though if I go back to 280mm.

Would like 310mm discs, but something decent like the brembos, as the primas were no better than standard. But dont think there are any avaliable.

I know a lot of people say you dont need bigger than 280mm, I just think they look better.

I wouldn't bother with greens.

The latest yellows work from cold, more fade reesistant for track work and last longer too.

Can't comment on the ds2500's except I have heard they are hard on discs.

ive had both and ill be going back to ebc for the brake dust issue really alot less on the green stuff and i dont think the ds2500 are that much better not worth the extra dust anyway

the ds2500 do squeek aswell but its not too bad

Ds2500's are excellent, soooo good. Lots of dust, but comes off easy enough with car shampoo and a towelling flannel. Squeal in stop start traffic, but not all the time.

Ive got DS2500s. Never noticed a huge difference in brake dust. Suppose there maybe a bit more but i washed the car every couple weeks so its not a problem.

As for sqeaking.... i have never heard this enough to bother me. Every so often there may be a little noise but very rarely. Not enough to not buy them over i think.

I think they are a great all round pad.

If you use a wax on your wheels it comes off easier, im begining to dislike my greenstuff's they are not consistant, im going back to tar-ox superb performance and good price.
