DSLR recommendation

Hi guys, I've been looking at the Nikon D5300 recently as a good camera to get started into photography but can't decide.

I'm swaying more towards Nikon for no apparent reason, I find Canons user face easier to use - but I'd prefer a Nikon?

Budget is around £600 including a Nifty Fifty lense.

I'll be using it mostly for portraits and car photography.

Any other recommendations?

D5300 is a good choice if you want to go new. The 50mm f1.8g is great but on a crop sensor I would go for the 35mm f1.8g.

You can pick up a D7200 for £550 if you dont mind going down the grey route.
