Dual Monitor help

  1.2 16v Clio
Basically i want to hook up another monitor to dual monitors.. my graphics card only came with one adapter for the monitor cable to fit onto it in order for it so fit correctly onto the card slots.

To get another adapter is to change it from DVI or whatever it is to what it needs to be is like 30quid or so down at the stores, any idea if i have one monitor hooked up to the card and one the the origional monitor port that was first on the PC will this work or do both need to be done thorugh the graphics card? as i want to be cheap and not fork out for the adapter :)

Cheers

A dvi-VGA converter us never £30 surely? Look on eBay, I bet you can pick one up for a couple of quid!

You will need a GPU with dual outputs to run a dual screen set up, that option will only become available then.

Edit: Do you want to view the same on both screens or make an extended desktop (spans across 2 or more screens)

haha sorry, i know not very techy :/ ermm theres 2 ports on the graphics card but normal monitor connectors wont fit, hence why it came with an adapter, which when i looked was 27quid from PC world! Will probably have to buy one off ebay it seems.

I basically want to use my primary screen for when im on games and stuff and have the smaller one for chats open and such.

The 2 ports on the back, these will be DVI ports, You usually get a DVI to VGA converter for normal monitors, if you have 2 of these ports on the same graphics card then all you will need is 2 DVI to VGA converters, 2 monitors and then you should get an option in your Graphics Card Utility to run Dual/Split Screen mode..

What model Graphics card you have? nVidia by any chance? these are as simple as when it comes to setting up dual screens
