Dual Optic dipped beam bulbs - help me out please!!

I bought a set of Osram H7 Night breakers, but they don't fit (I've not even opened them, but I can see they won't fit) I took my old bulb out & it has an L shaped black plastic connector on it, these bulbs don't have that!

I looked at Robs guide (Cheers Rob!) & it says H7 are main beam - I thought dipped & main were the same bulb :S Dipped beam is listed as HB3 /9005 - where can I get those ? what uprated ones are there ?

Halfrauds listed my car as H7 & when I checked online it said the same, so to be honest I don't have a clue what I need!! The bulbs don't look like they come out of the L shaped connector! Do bulbs come with this connector piece?

This is driving me nuts!!

Ah that would explain it!! I just looked up HB3 bulbs & they have the same connector as me. A lot of them on ebay say they're Zenon though. I don't have zenon bulbs do it ?

I take it my H7 ones will fit a phase 2 172 ? and they're dipped beam ?

When I had my ph1 I got osram night breakers in HB3 bit more expensive than H7 sadly though.

Iirc the full beam on ph1 is H7 so you could still use them, I think? But yeah dipped beam on ph2 1*2 is H7 mate.

Yeah they're double the price.

I don't think H7 is full beam on my car mate, there's not enough bulbs to go round. HB3 looks to be full & dipped beam.

That's ok, the guide says H7 on my car is full beam, but yeah there aren't enough lights.

Thank you for your help mate, you've saved me going nuts ;) :star:

H7 is the high/full/main beam. It goes into the reflector housing, the inner of the two main bulbs.

HB3 is dipped beam, which goes into your projector housing, the outer of the two main bulbs. You can use a conventional halogen/xenon filled bulb (such as OSRAM Nightbreaker +), or you can do what I did and fit a HID kit.

Cheers guys, I just went & looked, duhh !! I didn't realise there was another bulb there!!!

I've never had to change a bulb on it in 6.5 years.

Cheers, they look pretty good (I have Osram gear all round the car anyway) I wasn't expecting the ones I linked too to be great as they're really cheap.

Yeah i had Nightbreakers in my Full-beam and was really impressed with the osram gear! got the phillips on forum reccomendation since HIDs weren't gonna pass the MOT.
The cheapy LEDs i had lasted about a year for me before they started going a little wonky on me, but like you said, SUPER cheap.

I reckon I'll go with the Osram ones :)

Good Lord, Craig....

All sorted now !?
Lol, yeah!!

After I did the dipped ones I figured I'd upgrade the side ones too. I am crap with this sort of stuff (as you can tell)
