DVD RW question......................................

When i try to erase the dist with windows, i get "cannot complete the writing wizard"
is there any other way to erase the disk before anything is put on it?

As far as I know you cannot erase a DVD, you have to overwrite them.

I may be wrong but none of my software lets me erase them, they actually tell me to overwrite.

I mean before you use a DVD RW for the 1st time.

If it's a blank un-used DVD-RW, you would need to burn to it before you can erase from it.

There wouldn't be much point it erasing a blank DVD-RW if it's already blank. With DVD-RW's the first time you burn to it sets up the ISO header on the Cd, telling it what type of DVD it is and how it can be used.

If I've got that wrong then someone will correct me.

If your talking about the built in burning software I'm almost certain that is just for CD's and not DVD's.
