DVD to iPod

Hi.

Just joined 21st century.

I've got a DVD in one hand , an iPod video in the other and a MacBook in the middle.

How do I get the DVD onto the iPod using the MacBook?

In simple man terms if poss.

download a programme called mac the ripper to rip the dvd.

then download a programme called handbrake to convert it to itunes format
