Dynamique 1.2 rattling

i have an 03 1.2 16v clio dynamique and i have recently noticed once the car is warm if i hold the revs about 1000 revs there is a rattling/vibrating noise from the front of the car but when you pop the bonnet you cant hear anything. I spoke to a mate at work who has the 1.2 clio extreme and he gets the same problem.

Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem and if anyone has had anything done about it.

any help would be appreciated

Ive got an 02 model but doesnt have that problem... but it does have others. It the noise dont happen when ur revving at 1000rpm with the bonnet open maybe its just something thats catching when u close it... check to make sure theres nothing loose.

they all rattle like bitches.
Youd think so wouldnt you?? My 172 rattles like fook (so much so its going back to the garage to get sorted) but my girlfriends 03 Dynamique is rock solid. No rattles, no squeaks, no vibration - nothing!!!

i had a metal cover that covered the wires and connectors which are directly behind the engine by the bulk head, that used to rattle, infact it had nothing holding it down, it kept dislodging and was naffing up the connectors so with the agreement of the renault garage i bined it.

Its a conduction know as "205 complaint" quite normal in french cars over 2 years old.

AS said above welcome to the world of Renault. The world where they use stupid screw types that mean you have to go and buy your first star headed screwdriver, the world where they use too many stupid clips and screws in stupid places that you wouldnt even think theyd use, and where the clips are disposable cos you an only use them once - then they break. The world where just cos its a little cold all the plastic bits contract and rattle. The world where my dashboard has started vibrating (WTF?) at low revs and the world where the speakers in my doors need new screws/mounts.

Hi mate, I have this problem too. My mate has the same car as me but a year older and his does it too. I took it to Renault and they said it was normal, I didnt believe them, so the guy took me out in a Clio from the garage and that did the same too.

Can I ask you if you get a slight tapping noise when driving, and if so, does it go away when you press the cluth down? Mine does this and it pisses me off!

remove the dash, then re-fit it, usually stop rattles from the dash, and for some reason talcum powder also helps

but welcome to the French World, after a certain period of time, all you will hear is the rattles

there is a cover in the engine bay 6" left of the throttle body that rattles like buggery, it is not secured by anything, so will rattle forever, local renault garage told me if they replace it, ill be ack within 2 days for the same problem

i just left it rattling

Yup I have 2001 clio dynamique and I get minor rattling noises on and off from the front of the car.

Havent done much to fix it apart from cranking up the sounds to drown out the noise! ;)
