the car ia a 2002 1.2 16v dynamique

The problem that i have is that once the car heats up when i stop at trafic lights and put the clutch in it starts to splutter, it feels and sounds like it is going to cut out. I have had it back to the dealer and they said they had fixed it but it has come back again. The car is still under warenty but i wanted to get a better idea of what it might be before going back to the dealer.

hullo mate. does the rev counter bounce up and down much, or do you just feel that the car is spluttering and juddering a little at idle? mine splutters and i can feel it right through the car due to my exhaust being well strapped up. As long as the revs aint going crazy, id say its normal, but if its under warranty, go back and bug the dealer some more, thats what they are there for

the rev counter stays the same but i do think that it might be idleing a bit low, you just feel it through the whole car. it will be going to the dealer in the next few weeks anyway for a service i just thought i would do a bit of diging to see if anyone else has had the same problem before i book it in.

well mine does splutter and the exhaust pops away to itself on idle, its never cut out on me tho, a lot of people on here say its a characteristic of a 16v engine?

The 16V 1.2 engine has its fair share of problems you may be ok with a new loading of the ECU maps etc.

If not take it to another dealership (youll find a good one after a while) and they should be able to fix it so long as the problem is obvious. The 16V Clio engines do have a habbit or being problems at low revs it the design of the engine.

May be a doggie sensor though giving out a low or high reading if the problem is quite severe.

I had this problem,also made mine not start first time and then not at all,have had it back to Renault 3 times now!!

Each time they just say it is the ignition coils that needed replaced!

I also have had that problem but mine kept on cutting out after I had started the engine and drove for about 3 miles. I took mine back to renault on a few occasions and they just re-calibrated the ecu. It hasnt done it for a while now.

Has anyone came across the problem of the fuel injection casing coming free and making the engine rattle?

You mean the ECU the rectangular box near the battery if so then it just needs screwing down.

If your on about the security thingie behind the engine then it has happened a few time it needs screwing on or taping on.

Renault will fix it though under warentyl just take it back they should be able to fix it.

Id look at teh sofware and the coils.
