DYNAMIQUE lowered query.....

  H22A7 Accord Type R

since lowering the car, there is a rattle from the back end of the motor..........when going over slight bumps etc.........anyone else get this on their lowered car? everything is on tight, and lets face it, there aintmuchto lowering the back end, old springs fall out, new ones slide in..........is it just coz its sitting lower than normal? i just cant work out what the rattle could be???? advice once again ppl. lol, Rob

Wondering if its just because you have harder springs on, and its not so "cushioning" as before.

Rob its normal on some lowered cars the spinrgs rattles, you can fit spring helper onto it but it raises the car back up, which pretty much defeat the point of "lowering" your car lol, ive found the noise pretty much gone after ive had fitted 17s though.

ah at last a opinion lol...........could be, its just worryin cause it sounds like a loose rattle.........lol, maybe its the exhaust not coping with the extra stiffness.........any more ideas?

mine has a slight "clonk" when changing direction quickly over uneven surfaces, dont really care. If it breaks Ill refit standard springs, take it to renault and make them fix it! lol.

Just turn the stereo up and drive so fast you havent got time to listen to strange creaks and groans!

have you ugraded the shocks as i lowered my dynalique 40 mm and if shagged the tyres and was causing some serious long term damage..so i got rid so someone else ha ha

If the tyres were shagged must be cos of tracking being out. Either that or camber. Unless it was rubbing on the arches. Not replacing the shocks wont affect the tyres at all. I have noticed that my camber is definitely out a bit with the 40mm drop if I stand behind my car the wheels are further out at the bottom than the top, ie they slope out the way from top to bottom, so the cambers out. But without a camber adjustment kit to rectify this for the 1.2 16v theres nothing that can be done. Tracking on the other hand is essential to get checked if changing the springs and/or wheels.

iceman thanks mate..thats what the garage said...the tyres were being pshed out and so the inner edges of the tyres were gone

Iceman, erm, the rear wheels ARE ALWAYS perfectly straight because of the design of the rear beam, you can drop it on the floor at the rear without affecting the camber, its the front where the camber gets screwed up

Are you certain about that Fred?? Cos mine are visibly at an angle at the rear!! So there must be something up with my suspension geometry if you reckon the camber cant be out on the rear!!!

Ive got a dynamic lowered 40mm on Pi Lowering kit with 18s on i get a slight rattle from the rear too, anyone know what it is? My handling round corners is not as good as it was but i think thats just down to the size of the wheels not the suspension.

when i 1st lowered my dynamique, i had the standard exhaust on, it turns out that the springs were just catching the box when going over severe bumps, no problems since changing the exhaust

useless info, but it may be your solution
