doubt it, look at the mileage, you may see them advertised for £10k but they never ever actually sell, to sell one, this is the sort of prices you expect to get. ive seen low milers <65k on various sites that actually do sell fetchin £6-7k max with fbwmsh

alot of car for the money 60k new 9yrs later 5k!!!

Nah, massive miles, probably a bit of rust hear & there, probably been offered 50p as trade in, etc etc etc.

Tartan is cool, but the telephone is hero spec.

Its oop nurth somewhere, & i cant be bothered driving miles to discover its a nail, otherwise it would be outside my house lol.

I was looking at M3s at the same time as VX220s. Some tidy ones about for the money I was looking to spend. I didn't fancy the high running costs, and it's too comfy and 'boring' for me at the moment.

There are quite a few locally now being driven by the types that previously had E36s. I just hope the E46 doesn't end up a chavvy second hand choice that you see ragged to f**k everywhere. That's what a few of them I've seen are.

They will unfortunately, but its just means the prices will fall even further!! Then, when all the e46's are written off, & the idiots upgrade to e92's, the e46's will become more cherished, & the prices will slowly rise again.

Happened with the e30 (i remember when you could buy one for 5 grand lol), now happening with the e36 ...

Some people just price to sell. Also trade in he would be offered peanuts with that mileage. It looks true but as Daniel said it'll almost definitely need a bit of work, bushes etc. He'd help himself out by putting motorway mileage.

Just did an evaluation on webuyanycar.com with that mileage etc, without any defects he may of not listed - * The valuation of your car is £3,175.00

servicing is expensive and running costs are shocking imo. Big engine for you. Still cheap though. Track car anyone ;)

Lol I'm glad I got rid of mine when I did. Managed to get 11500 which I thought was fair for a 53reg 54000mile minter. I lost 1500 in depreication in over a year (bought from a good dealer) and probably spent around £800 on it in that time (tyres!) they're not cheap, but £2300 wasn't a huge loss IMO. Certainly not considering what some are fetching now!

When looking for mine I saw lots of poor examples mind, and they were noway near as cheap then!

Good god that's a lot of car for the money. I would love to be able to afford to run one properly.

Unfortunately this also opens up the M3 market to a dilution of "wideboys" (more so than already) which means in a year or two's time there will be completely knackered examples running around free from servicing or mechanical sympathy :(

where have you seen them for 6k with 65k miles , find me one and i will buy it straight away , just sold my 03 plate with 86k on for 10k and it sold within a few weeks , 100k mile m3's go for 7-8k ,

servicing isnt that expensive either , tyres and discs are expensive though , rear tyres are £250 each for conti's , inspection 2 done before i done mine and that is the biggest service for £330 + vat at gloucester bmw specialist , and running them is quite expensive as said , i have had 2 now and love them , so much fun to drive , 5k for a m3 , that will 100 % either be cat d or c , or be a scam ,

lol at m3's are w**k , subaru's are ok if you like chocolate engines that need rebuilding every 10k of hard miles , you could ramp a m3 most of its life and it will still be running sweet 100k down the line , ramp a impreza and it would of needed 10 engine rebuilds before 100k miles , lol:lolup: , my mate has went through 2 engines on his sti , both built by power station fully forged , he has had less than 10k out of them but he does give them some sh1t but he services them regularly with decent oil etc etc , every impreza i have known of has blown a engine .. i know what i would have out of the 2

granted they lose money quick , 90% of car's do , plus them being a big engined car and high running costs that will hit the price hard as well , i have been looking at the m3's for a while and you cannot pick a 65k mile mint m3 for 6k or even 7k , 100k mile cars go for 7k and sell all day long at that price , there are a hell of a lot of rough m3's out there i should know i viewed about 5 of them before i bought my last one , all cheaply priced ones down the lower end of the market , spent a hill of money in fuel going to view them around the country , a 05 reg m3 is still up around 13k + for a minter ,

All performance and luxury cars' value drop like a stone, simply because the next owners can't afford the running costs. Prices therefore have to come down to balance the negatives of running them.

As said though, any cheap M3 needs thousands throwing at it. It is naivety to presume you are getting a box fresh car, far from it. The M3 gets through RTABs like nobody's business, and there is also that whole issue with the rear suspension turrets coming away...and that can happen on low mileage cars!
