Cheers mate. It's certainly getting there, wheel refurb and I'll be happy for a while..

No not at all, £3 more and I could have it that day. No one else could get me on on the day I wanted it!

So, small update:

The last few weeks have seen some money problems, big ones, but as for wednesday this is all sorted :)

I've decided (for now) that having my wheels refurbed is the best option, I just haven't got £900 spare at the moment for the CSL's and I do quite like the look of the 108's when they're like new.

Tyler's friend is doing them for me and this could well be next weekend money and availability dependant.

Anyway, I had a few bits that were driving me mad in the car, firstly, the drivers side electric window had a snap in it, so I'd sourced some new switches. Awesome...

These turned up, and unfortunately were missing the whole for the electric folding mirrors... This could be easily rectified with a drill bit but it wouldn't look neat, so continuing with the carbon wrap theme, the window switches were done:

They match the grab handles quite nicely IMO and they're not exactly in your face.

With all the carbon wrapping going so well, I decided to rectify another thing that was driving me insane, the worn away/scratched top of the ash tray cover.

With some immense trimming skills from myself and a friend, I've managed to cut this so well you can't even tell the seam around the edge exists. God I love the 3m stuff:

You can see how it all ties together here, not too much IMO, just switches, grab handles, gear surround and ash tray cover:

Oh and because I'm bored at work, a few bad random iPhone shots of the car (dirty):

I've also sourced some wheels for the upcoming burpspeed trackday. Ant (Scrooge) and I are taking the zed... :race:

Still might come to Llandow to watch you two benders.

Car looks great mate.

Quite like the carbon wrapping tbh. Wheels will look good once refurbed, and the trackday with RWD will be fun. Just don't stack it.

Cheers mate. It's subtle and there for a reason TBH. Everything that's been covered was damaged/not quite right in some way.

You spin me right round baby right round.

At least we'll be doing it on cheap(er) tyres!

Do it mate! It's going to be a right good crack. Only reason I'm at the office today is to get enough days off to go goodwood and the burspeed thing. Touch.

Proper nice Rob, you seen the guy on Z4Forum who's carbon wrapped the cubby hole doors behind the seats? That looks sweeeeeeet. Cannot wait until the 182 sells and I can start proper shopping!!!

looks awesome Rob, i saw this colour today with the roof down and it looked really nice.

Seeing the carbon makes me feel less guilty about selling the wood dash that i offered you for £2.50 for £120 on ebay now aswell :)

Lovely!

The carbon looks really great; I'm quite surprised.

Cheers mate, I'm not a fan of carboning things really either, but wrapping stuff is often an answer to an otherwise expensive problem!

Yeah I saw that mate, I have enough to do mine, just not sure if I'm that bothered, you don't ever see them!

You sold it :(

My dash is manky and I was looking forward to some pimp wood. I am most sad about this. I thought we were friends.

you know what, I'm that in love with my A1 I'm not even missing it any more.

PS log book turned up today :D

Love it!
The carbon looks a lot better than it should... it normally looks a bit cheap tbh - but it's surprisingly at home in that cabin. Very nice!

Glad you like, I'm glad you do as I tend to quite like where you go with cars, so having a decent opinion of someone who's taste I like is always good if you know what I mean?

I'm not a fan of the carbon wrap ever either, but it was a great solution to a problem.

Not as yet mate. I'm going to stick some pictures and a review up soon, but early impression is that I'm not missing the R26 one bit!

Get it done!

Glad you're loving the A1, as you can tell I'm enjoying this :)

Hope you don't think I'm b*****dising it. Heated seats soon too!

The log book: Thank GOD!

Sorry that took so long.

  Whichever has fuel
I think it needs a private plate. For some reason that plate really ages the car.

You're totally right. The only thing that tells you this car is 9 years old is the plate. I've been looking into it actually. If you see any good "Rob" ones about, lemme know.

How much is it for a set mate? The ones on my winters are f**ked :(

I'm going for ebay specials mate, they're about a tenner or so. I see no point in getting actual BMW ones as they all go tits up about once a year!

PS Nice job on the refurb looks great :)

Cheers mate, the same place tyler posted up recently did them. Awesome work TBH!

Ah perfect well i've got to order some new wipers from ebay for it so will get some at the same time then thanks :) Look forward to seeing it at Llandow. Plate would be a good idea for it, the car certainly doesn't look 9 years old!

F**king cheers Rob! shame they never seem to get finished though ffs.

Wheels look super fresh. I think you made a great decision spending money on these instead of a set of CSL's. It just looks right!
Plus you can keep the car at the standard ride height and it already looks good, rather than messing around with springs and an uncomfortable ride.

Cheers mate, I'm still not entirely sold, but I think this is mainly because I've always wanted CSL wheels on something!

I could get 18's and retain my current ride heigh but I feel that copping out a bit?

Apparently, 19's don't look so bad on mine, because of the SE spec it has the slightly lower suspension... anyway, I really like how fresh these look now.

Looks so smart. Wheels are growing on me :D

Cheers chaps!
