Earthing My Amp in a Valver

Wheres the best place to earth my amp to in the boot of a valver? Cus where i have it at the mo i here a horrible high pitch sound where it picks up the engine. Will it work if i run the earth back to the battery?

run the earth to a seat belt mounting point, should work fine.,

or you could drill a small hole somewhere in the boot and screw the earth down, this is what i have done, make sure that the hole and surrounding areas are free from any paint, a little bit of sand paper works fine.

I earthed mine to the boot lock, works fine.

Earth lead should be less than 3ft long (max). Dont run it back to the battery as you will get loads of interference.

Yeah i earthed mine to the boot lock too. just unscrew scrape and you are away! I was well chuffed the easiest car ive worked on, Just the power wire under the carpet throught the middle of the car was a pain as it wouldnt reach going around the side.

I drilled a small hole under the rear seats n earthed it there!!

also why not just pull up the plastic trim down the sides of the car and run the power lead down that ....
