Easy Spring Question...

  MK2 Clio
Hi, I have a 1.2 8v (52mm hub - so Most Coilovers will not fit!! not cheaper ones anyway)

Will non rs or rs springs fit a car?

Thanks in advance...

So will they fit a 8v as well as a 16v - I do sound stupid but I am no mechanic. Are the springs universal or what exactly

  a low one
yes. springs are usually just dependant upon model such as mk2 etc.

you could always buy 58mm hubs for around £30 from a scrappy or someone breaking a car and then you could get coilovers?

I am debating it, I don't know mechanically what I am doing to well and am better at electronics. I will need everything from disc to caliper etc wont i?

i fitted a new hub on mine the other week, i took the disc and caliper etc off the one in the scrappy but used my own disc and caliper on it.

was a relatively quick job tbh, just undoing bolts in effect, and re bolting up. its well worth the money i recon as you can buy the Rokkor coilovers for £160 then.

springs dont really cut it against coilies.

Thankyou for everyones help so far, so do you need to get new discs and caliper to fit or will the old ones fit?

  Stripped yozza'd cup
No, your old disks and caliper will fit mate. It's only the bolt spacing for the suspension that is different.

As others said, this is the way to go. Then you can get cheap coilovers.

If you buy springs, you'll get bored, want it lower and then end up buying hubs and coilovers anyway. Better off doing it properly to start.

itll be cheaper to buy just a bare hub aswell minus the disc and calipers. i just cba stripping it in the yard so took the whole lot.
