ECU / OBD Remapping

Car  RenaultSport 182
Hi,

I've just got myself a new Clio and want to open up the engine to its full potential. I'm totally new to the modinfication scene so have a few simple(probably stupid) questions about, Remapping.

Can this damage the engine of your car?
Is it worth having it done?
How much can it cost?
Does this need to be declared to the insurance company?

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks all :D

i've got mine remapped and i had the inlet manifold ported at the same time by hillpower and it felt alot more smoother and is a fair bit quicker than a standard one,i dont think it can be detected and i paid £280 for it

Which map do you down load for the 172 cup...Renaultsport one ? as there are many maps some with dodgy idle (it a map for cams aswell i think) etc.

What are the improvements and graphs..?mpg etc

There is not just one map. Depending on the ECU and software version depends on my map. Any changes can be made as my maps are not some gineric ebay sh*t, each one is usually custom to the vehicle. All have been rolling roaded with excellent results (on here somewhere) and no problems.

Good figures there...12ft of extra torque is definately nice.

Need to find someone down south who does the same thing as it's what I'm looking at doing in the future.
