ecu problem

hi im asking for a mate who has a clio 2002 1.2 16v , im not 100% whats up with or or cant say what lights show up yet but iv been told it could by the ecu. im going up to look at it soon but thort i would ask 1st if it was an ecu problem could i get a 2nd hand ecu and fit this and still use the same key or would i have to change the key and barral with the ecu??

i will hopfully come back with more detials and problems

You can still use the same key and barrel but I think the ecu will need to be programmed once installed.

how would you programme it and how much would it cost?? the problem seems to be that the car will start but then cut out???
