ECU upgrade

Might sound obvious, and non technie (im not a technical mind!!), but your acceleration times will be better, due to having to change gear later.

Dont know a thing about the V6, but in my car a higher rev limit would mean reaching 60 without having to go for 3rd gear, saving a few hundredths, and the same would apply further up on the way to 100 and beyond when changing into 4th

Presumeably the chip would also smooth out flat spots, and give small gains accross the rev range

Most Chips on NA cars usually Increase Driveability and throttle Response etc.

Not major Power Hikes I dont think. I would imagine that the V6 lump is in quite a high state of tune anyway. Ask BenR he might be able to help more. Or maybe HillPower

The V6 is flacid and unstressed in std form. The cup racers get 285bhp from a simple cam, spring, twin plenham and new ECU change.......nothing is really touched.

The ECU wont up power by any drastic amount, but as liquid says......drivability may (never tested one) be better.

an ecu would help bring out some of the performance renault would have sacrificed to improve emissions and mpg.
