ECU upgrade?

hi all,

sorry if this has been answered before, i know alot of throttle body questions are asked but i searched and couldn't see an answer

do you deffinatly need a new ECU when you fit throttle bodies? if not and it can run on standard ECU, is there any risk or anything to take into consideration?

It's been tried before, try this thread in the search ( stock ecu ITB design project) it links to others as well.
