Editing Videos

I've recently bought a Sony ASR30 action camera (or FauxPro as it has been affectionately named).

I've got a load of clips from the trip to the Formula One last weekend, but I don't even know where to start with editing and producing a final video. I've seen plenty of videos that I like, but I just don't know where to start?!

A lot of the clips need trimming as there's only a few seconds from each one that I want. Do I go through and trim them all first?

Do people choose the music first or get the clips together and make them fit the music?

It's a totally new thing to me really, so a lot to digest in one go!

Thanks

I've made loads of videos, this is my most recent...

Nothing amazing but I did that with Windows Movie Maker which everyone says is crap.

In answer to your question... I trim the clips on Movie Maker and make the video first, then choose the music.

Would nearly always choose a song first. Usually when listening to it I get ideas for what I want to do and work from that. But everyone works differently. Just see what works for you.

Yeah I've got editing software, that's not a problem. It's just the process and order in which to do things. I'll make a start this weekend though.
