WHAAAAAAAAT! £218 for a gas strut to hold the boot up? You can buy a bloody good damper and spring for that money! Get one off of another car and modify it.......

Oh FPMSL!

Honestly i'm sure people are starting to realise but Renault parts are some of the most expensive parts out there.

As its been pointed out below i need the trophy ones, my boot does not open fully due to the V6 spoiler

The trophy ones dont open as far as the standard ph2 ones because the trophy spoiler is bigger etc.

Hits nail on the head ^

Maybe they were charging you for capital letters as well...

This is true but i gues they would do the same for people that need 3 full stops at the end of a sentence.

Three dots are known as "ellipses"

But yes, Renault are extortionatly over priced on certain parts. They sell cheap cars, but expensive parts, guess where they make their money.

I'd love to price up what it'd. cost to build a clio from parts. lol.

Also... I opened this thread expecting to see some jdm win. I did not.

Taken from cliotrophy:
As said, don't jump to replace them as they will probably be OK, just give them a bit of cold weather and they're pants!

I would probably just hang about and see if it gets better.

You tried on Clio Trophy? Some guy reckons he can get them for £85 (which is still £££ when compared to regular struts).

Thank you for your help, I will pop over to the trophy forum and have a look at this.

I would probably just hang about and see if it gets better.

Its been like this since day one mate and they are very very poor. I have had the boot lid fall down atleast adozen times on my head.
