Eggy smell when accelerating

Hi,

When accelerating heavily at around 60mph I get a rotten egg smell from the car, will this be a collapsed cat or if it was this would the smell be around all the time?

Yep cat, or some kind of injector problem.

It's unused sulfur in the fuel that causes the smell IIRC

Mine does this but doesn't have a cat at the moment...

Would this explain the MPG going down too? Think the car will be gone by the winter, had enough of it now

I couldn't say mate, if it was the cat then I don't think so, injector quite possibly, but I'm no expert
