electric rack.

  Trophy #473
Im going to remove the PAS from my valver, but my 1.2 had a manual rack and it was hard work at low speed. Can i use an electric rack from a diesel mk2, car has no ABS as its a ph1, so wouldnt be able to link it to the ABS unit for viariable assist, can i get away with just using the rack

Dont want the mk2 abs unit, im hardcore.

mk2 clio? did you mean old clio mk1 but phase 2/3 or do you mean clio2 phase 1/2?

if you mean mk1 clio phase 2/3 then the rack is a fluid rack it just has an electric oil pump on the deisal model..

if you mean clio 2 phase 1/2 then there would be a lot of work and expense to fit the electric steering to your valver. the column is the pas part it has a big electric motor on it.

i ment mk2.... like mk2 clio, as i know the diesel and 1.2 16v use an electric rack, cant see it being a major problem fitting it, car is basicly a shell so easy access etc.

It'll be a track/B road car.

I'd either go to a manual rack or keep the PAS one. much better feedback that way.

Ligthen the front of the car if ou want to help with the weight or use it as an excuse to build up the muscles.
