It did make me laugh. It's just an ordinary cheap cone filter.

Where does the electric or turbo bit come in?

Surely that's trade descriptions?!

Read it again.........there is an electric fan in the tube.

I think that makes it a supercharger, must be more like 20 bhp then.
Damn, I need 2 of them, so 40 bhp then......great !!

It is as Brain R said a small electic fan.

Surely this would restrict air flow as the electic fan could never spin fast enough by electricity?

That's hilarious!

So you don't even get the filter? Quality!

A tube with a fan in it! £50 lol!

Be interesting to see how many he'll sell and what sort of feedback he'll get.

lol, iv u did actually make a very powerful fan version would this actually be worth doing? if u were actually forcing a good bit of air into the inlet manifold?

The problem is though it would have to be variable. If it wasn't you would be pushing too much air in when idling yet nowhere near enough (thus limiting power big time) when flooring it at 5.5k RPM.

I doubt the fan could spin fast enough/be powerful enough at that size anyway. I started a thread about the fuel/air ratio of engines and we did some calcs to see how much air even a 1 litre engine takes in at 5.5k rpm. It was ALOT of air!

Classic (sniggers)

An oldish dude near me has a mondeo st24 which he said has 252 bhp:eek: - limited edition of 50 cars ! It's got a turbo & everything (so he told my dad)

When my dad asked what model turbo it has - he went 'its electric'
I p*ssed myself with laughter:evil:
The car is just a normal st24 - the best bit is that it on a Y reg & he paid over 20k for it new - Its worth about 4k now, its not even an st200 ffs ! (I believe though as its a late one it might have the 200 engine in it) still pants slow though :rasp:

Hes says hes fitted it to his wifes saab too. All saabs are turbos aren't they anyway?
Had a guy come to me who had bought one(i sell silicone) The silicone that came with it was red and he wanted blue. I sold him the silicone and we chatted about extracting more power from his mondeo and his big plans. Didn't have the heart to tell him it was a load of crap. The fan was running off two batteries. I should have told him to get bigger batteries to "ram" more air in
If you look at what hes bought from ebay hes bought a 60mm pc cooling fan too. LOL

PMSL coming home last a Peugeot 206 tried to out run my Fiat Scudo works Van down the slip round onto the M23. As I came past he changed gear and there was this fake dump valve noise. I pimped my horn and laughed uncontrollably at him before my REAL turbo spooled up and I pressed on past him. Genius. FIAT 2.0JTD RULEZ!

Oh dear.. I hate to think what would happen if the fan came apart with the suction of the engine. Although I think it'd be far more than £50 to get that little mess sorted out..

Oh, how we laughed

The theory behind it is sound though if it was variable as said above and could be trusted to spin at the same rate as a super/turbo charger.
