electric window arghh

cud use a little help please lol.. small problem that just winds me up ha.. basicaly my passenger window is wired up rong, wen u push the button down it goes up and wen u pull it up it goes down lol.. annoys me. how can i get it the other way.. any help apreciated, thanks josh.

take the handle off where the electric buttons are and swap the conectors round job done.

No dont swap the connectors round!

If you take the handle off and take the switch out from the handle... remove the CAP that covers the switches and turn it through 180 degress then put it back on! Someones had yours off in the past me thinks

U cant change the connectors round they only go in 1 way.(i.e wireing block to switch)

rite so wat can i do then, cz on the drivers side wer the switch is its rong way round aswell. im thinkin wer they wire up from the start are the opposite way round or sumert, or am i jus chattin s**t lol thanks

The connector that goes into the bottom of the switch itself can only go in one way... but the switch itself can be taken out and put in either way.

So if you take the the handle part out... remove the whole switch mechanism and connector, then remove the black cover thats held on both sides by a little lug, rotate that 180 degrees. Fit the black cover back on, fit the wire back into the connector and then locate the whole thing back into the door arm handle you should be sorted!

If that makes no sense il take some pics for you tomorrow as its dark now and cold

yeh it makes sence, but wil that sort the drivers side out aswell as that switch is rong aswell, or do i have to do same to that. thanks

richy your thinking about a ph2, where its just like a light switch that sits in the middle,

the ph1, it more like button that you pull out to go up, and press in to go down,

therefore, i have no idea how you would sort that :S sorry,

where did you get the car from??
is there any evidence that someones hacked the loom about before??

have you tried swapping the passenger switch and the passenger window switch on the drivers side,

could be a dodgy switch in the button :S

not tried anythin yet, but surely if both the passenger side switches work the other way round then are they nt wired up sumwer rong. like can i not jus swap 2 wires sumwer under the bonnet lol.. am i makin sence or is it nt that easy aha cheers

dont think the wires would be under the bonnet lol,

problem is, theres about 5/6 wires going into each switch,
you could get your multi meter out, and find out what each wire does and try and swap them over,

id be more interested in finding out how it got that way in the first place,

as both the switches are having the same effect, id look at the window motor, see if the plugs been jammed in the wrong way around or something,
clean up the connections, failing that get the multi meter on the window motor (id do this rather than the switch, will make it easier as theres lights etc in the switches)

Ahhh if yours is a phase 1 then ignore totally what I said maybe!

Mine's a Phase2 and I was basing it on that... I just "assumed" you had a phase 2 too! And you know what they say about assumption!

Hi when u take the handle off as i said b4 check that that there in the right way just swap the slot connector blocks and c if that works its easy to do!!
I would assume someone had done the window reg b4 and put them back the wrong way or there could be something else going on with the wiring.
