Finalllyyyy booked my car into a renault specialist for tomorrow due to the electrical fault light coming on and my car cutting out! today the light is constantly on and will not go out - joy! had this car since may and its done it ever since so about time it got sorted!

Know quite a few people with this problem so will let you know of the outcome when I get it back from the garage tomorrow to see if this helps anyone else who has these problems!

Has been mentioned if its of high cost to fix it I can scrap it which has made me rather excited! :D

Also cleaning it tonight as its FINALLY stopped raining so will get some pictures up on here for you all to see my rubbish piece of french engineering!

Had the garage do a diagnostic test – they have informed me it’s the throttle body and will cost around £400. Faults have been cleared but will return. Debating the future of this car atm!

may have to take it to my friends garage to see if they can do this - either way this car is being sold!
started my car up to come back to work just after getting it back and the light is back on - cut out around 10 times just to get off my drive!

honestly will cost you not alot to mend if you do it yourself, your car isnt worth anything at all broken

The 1.2 16v (pre 05) Throttle Body is a pain in the arse to get to. But cheaper to do yourself.

Also, did they check the wiring at the back of the engine for signs of cutting/wear marks. As this is a common problem on them, this causes loads of faults to be thrown up.

not knowing much about cars (by not much i a mean sweet fa!) i think i need someone else to do the job for me! will get my friend to take a look as hes a mechanic, get it sorted then its goin up for sale!

lol beef, no don't worry i wont! ill pick on the unsuspecting public! they charged me £35 + vat for the test and fault clear, although that didn't seem to work..

car finally gave up hope on saturday -
- Cut out on the way home and wouldn’t start! Will turn over but cuts out straight away. Looked an idiot being pushed home! >.<
