Electrical problem umm?

Fitted a Sub in my Car on friday evening and was at the japfest saturday in the traffic to get out sat there and lost all my power head unit clock gauges speedo all cut out then went back on again not sure if its o do with fitting sub wiring is all fine does anyone know.

happend to me twice in the 2.5 years ive had my clio. (ph2 1.2) not cup, btw.

I havent got a sub fitted though and nothing eletrically has changed.

mine come back on after 2 secs on its own.

not sure what caused it, and Renault couldnt find anything

Just got home from my girlfriends and pulled up on the drive and the car went of lights headunit everything went on it tried turning key nothing then it all cam back on again then went of again then went on again the i could start it and iv got to set my headunit back up clock i dont know why its doing this is it becasue iv fitted a sub or is there a fault please help.

Yep everything cuts out then it all comes back on its started getting worse its weird its never all turned of for awile and i cant start it but my mate said his mates car done it and he cudnt start it and today mine went and done it what is wrong with the ecu to do this isit the sub shall i take it out

u sure after fitting the sub uv screwed the positive and negatives back onto the battery properly?? cause surely if there is a weak connection it will cut out. part from that very obvious solution iv not a clue lol

The sub is probably a coincidence, nothing more.
Take it out if it makes you feel better but i feel that it has nothing to do with your problems.

Check your battery terminals, especially the main -ve to the chassis.

Have you checked the ECU in the engine bay? are there any signs of damage/loose plugs etc etc...?

seems a bit drastic to go slating ecus before checking the battery terminals are even bolted back on, i reckon its something simple if not battery then an earth, the ecu wouldnt cause you to loose instrument panel and accesory power.

Very true, I wasn't slating the ECU at all I was just going through what I would check myself logically should I ever have this fault :)

Lets hope it is a simple fix :D

All the battery terminals look like there on fully and nice and tight havnt checked the ecu yet im going to take sub and wiring out tomorow so that will be up for sale if it still does it then quess its the ecu cutting out is that what it is doing

Lets hope so cuz this is the 1st problem with my car so far and im thinkign about selling it soon and cant untill its fixed and working again does my nut in

Well i was speaking my dad today and he said he remebers me sayin that it wouldnt start one day that was before i put my sub in so not sure if its that i will check that later but im of work at mo with a bad foot and cant walk f**k sake but just want it fixed.
