Electronic fault light and car goes into limp mode

Hi people,


I'm new to the site and well impressed by the content


I drive a 2053 Renault Clio 172 cup and am having trouble with my Electronic Fault & Preheating Warning Light coming on when I am driving and only in the wet. When it comes on the accelerator stops working but the car continues to take over fine. You can pump the accelerator but nothing happens.


Once this happens the light will stay on for a period of time from 5 mins to 30 mins or until the engine is turn off and back on. Any ideas what the problem could be or any suggestions to fix it. I'm thinking it could be some sort of relay that may not be working correctly???


Any help is greatly appreciated folks, Also can any recommend a good Renault specialist in or around Edinburgh

My car did this. Turned out to be the plug on top of the pedal. Think it's the throttle position sensor? If you take it out, clean it up and then plug it back in, I strapped it down to make sure that it was in place. Never had a problem since

hi im having problems with mine every now and again the light comes on when I turn the engine of then back on its gone out ,I lost some power one day when the light came on does any 1 no what it could be
