I've seen these sort of things before , people have posted stuff about em on here . They are supposed to be a waste of money . Its just a fan . You'd be better off with a forced induction airfilter , like a viper or somethin similar.

LOL @ foprced induction, the only timew the air is moving fast enoguh to create any sorta gain from teh air being 'forced' in is about around 150mph+

That stuff looks pretty dodgy to me....I'll think I'll give it a miss and keep my pistons/engine on one piece.

the theory behind it is sound, just the products people make are shite, as they fan doesnt spin anywhere near fast enough.

EDIT: Just had a look at those, the generation3 system looks quite good, as the fan spins at 75,000 rpm. shame the gen 4 doesnt take it to a 100,000 as that would be one that might actually work.

So why do people buy pipercross vipers ,bmc 's etc ?? Airs forced into teh filter from the front of teh car . Ooooops i can't spell either , i mean into "the" ;)

no its NOT forced in

the whole point of a viper etc etc is to derestrict the flow of air into the engine

Garrett have been working on electric turbos for a while (basically a turbo with an electric motor driving it rather than exhaust gases). Has been a fair few mentions of it in recent SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) publications...
Imagine this thing is slightly less effective though...

aka a hairdryer

The only reason i could see in having an electronic turbo (a proper one from garret) is that it would have no lag at all, as it would constantly be spinning at the right speed to come on boost straight away.

But wheres the fun in that, the whole fun in a turbo car is flooring it and when it comes on boost half way around a sharpe corner, and it just goes crazy on ya, lol.
