Electronic warning light on after jump started

I've recently had to deal with a flat battery while away from home. The AA man came with a couple of wires and jump started the car. However the electronic warning light has come on, and it stays on. Yet the car is running absolutely fine. I drove it home on a 90 mile motorway trip, and commuted to work the last couple of days and it feels fine. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

It's a Mk2 1.2 16V

That could be on for any reason on a 1.2 16v. Plug it in and see what it's saying as it could be the reason for your flat battery.

I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes. After reconnecting the light is now off. Apparently it can happen that an intermittent battery connection while reconnecting it creates a spike in a ECU, causing the light to come on.
