Elongated Wheel bolt Holes

Looked at some new rims on ebay, and they guy mentions that the wheel bolt holes are slightly elongated.

What sort of problems would this cause? would it really be noticeable?

It potentially means the bolts could pull through and the wheel fall off. Are they second hand?

I bought these wheels a little while ago without paying too much attention to the holes. It was only after having them painted that I noticed the holes are all slightly elongated, hence I haven't run them on my car.

I was planning to get them re-drilled and a collar put in them which can be done, but I have now sold my clio due to relocation abroad with work.

Sounds like hassle to me mate.

I wouldn't buy them for the exact reason he hasn't used them on his car.

looks like the bolts have come loose on them at some point and worn the hole a bit bigger. Hard to say without trying them, but the seat on a wheelbolt is fairly big

thanks da. Ive even posted in some of his threads

also danny, I did think about the seat holding the head of the bolt quite well. Is there any chance that the head could snap or still move when bolted up due to the hole. What would need to be felt/noticed if they were trial fitted? Noticeable knocking noise and/or rocking of the wheel?

I'd be checking the bolts in the holes with the wheel off first, see if the seat is protruding at all. If it is then the wheel wont be held tight to the hub. If they bolt up ok and dont wobble, then.....well, have to make a judgement call on it really
