Email spam/virus & a strange error

  1.8 Civic EX
My mate has just text me saying he got an e-mail from me at about 8am this morning along the lines of "we could have done with one of these last year" and a link.

Now for me to be awake at 8am in the morning is quite a feet in itself, let alone send an e-mail so defo wasn't me.

Any sugestions as to what can be done?

Also now every time I turn on my laptop I get an error, something along the lines of "picture not supported" and a reference to a .dll file (this is displayed shortley before windows opens up)

Is my laptop fuggered/infected/raped etc etc

The only anti-virus I have is AVG.

I had this for Hotmail account. I changed my password and instantly fixed the issue. Try that as a start.

I've had/got a few hotmail accounts, he's going to find out what e-mail adress it came from later and let me know.

Malwarebytes? assuming it's some sort of free scan jobby? any links etc?

just got a text from another mate of mine saying same thing. It's defo my hotmail account. Will have to change the password later (can't access it from work)

iirc I needed the hotmail for xbox live. I don't use it regularly infact I haven't logged into my hotmail acount for years. I use my cuurant isp's e-mail address all the time.

Any sugestions regards the strange error when I boot up the machine? I'll get the exact error message later.

error message is "logonui.exe bad image"

simply click ok and it continues to load into windows (vista). I don't have any profiles etc set up on the machine, not sure if that makes a difference?

Run Malwarebytes, then run CCLeaner. Remove any unwanted start ups, and clear the registry of bad entries.
