Engine bay spruce up

Not 100% done yet, also removed the insulation from the back and replaced it with some heatproof mat.

Engine cover is under the bed, may put it on but it rattles.
Will be at the rr day, probably won't run the clio, may have something else to run:).

Take you time, it's far too easy to make a deep scratch and have to start on that area again, also get a polishing kit.

May paint or clean the cam cover as it lets the bay down, then just keep it clean. If my plans stick it will be going end of october time, so just enjoy it untill then.

how long did it take to get it polished like that? i have a polishing kit wacked it on a drill and started polishing but my inlet just didnt seem to come up polished at all! and i spent a good hour on it at least!

You need to start with sandpaper, to get the surface even and remove all those dimples, i used 120grit on a disc, then just worked up to 2000grit wet and dry and then the polishing kit. Took me 10 hours all in over a couple of months.

The cam cover would look good painted - what colour though?

Not worth the effort doin it yourself mate I tried but got pi***d off and took it to polisher in the end worth the cash . nice painted cover finishes it off too :approve:
