hi all.

i am looking at changing the engine with my 172 as its cheaper to replace than try and repair whats in there.

my question is tho what documentation do i need or need to fill in to notify about the change of engine?

never done this so unsure what happens or what i need to do?

thanks

Phil

Nothing, fine to just change. Engines don't have any identification on that matches them to the car

  Whichever has fuel
Remove the old engine.

Strip it bare of the alternator, gearbox, inlets etc etc.

Get secondhand engine.

Fit new belts and kits to new engine.

Fit new clutch.

Refit and there's no need to tell anyone anything.
