engine checks ?

i have jus bought myself a ph1 clio sport and was wondering on what checks and things i shud do to make sure my engine is running smoothly and ganna last for aslong aspossible im thinken a good service anyone got any more advice for me to get done or checkked it wud be much help thank u x here is a few other things ive thought about doing jus dnt wanna be wasten my money on things that dnt need doing

get the head skimmed
cambelt change
any other engine wear and tear srtuff i shud check im not expert so any help would me muchg appreshiated

Full belt change, both belt kits need doing. By someone who knows what they are doing.

Nothing else if its healthy, regular oil changes, maybe coolant change and keep on top of all the other maintenance and it'll be reliable as ever.

Every time I buy a new/secondhand car, I always make a point of putting some Slick 50 oil treatment in the engine just for some added protection to the internals.

On these little French boxes, the engine is the least of your worries (just don't forget about the belts...)

I presume its a 172 and not a 1.2?

Belts are around £450-£500 from a specialist iirc, for oil i'd just bang some decent 5w40 in personally. Never bothered with the treatment stuff.

Think birchdown are your closest specialist, great lads there
