Engine coolant

I went to the local garage the other day and got the coolant drained and replaced, but he didnt flush it clean so its all needing doing again so going to do it myself.

What type of engine coolant do i need to get?
Ive got a 1.2 BeBop, cant find the manual btw so cant check it that way.

Also the radiator has never turned on after a journey wether its long or short... any idea as to why?Or does the engine just need to be really hot for it to turn on?

The fan wont really work till summer time as the outside temperature is not hot enough. Im sure if you left the car running for ages whilst sitting still it would come on, but your talking ages, and only when the temperature gets really hot.

Remember, you have nearly the same size radiator as the other cars, just half the engine..therefore more cooling i guess.

As to anti-freeze, its up to you. I say you pay for the name, so its up to you. Aslong as its mixed right you would be ok.

Last time i flushed my system through, many years ago, i just took the pipe off the top of the radiator, and put the hosepipe into the hose on the car, and left it running, eventually the engine was back filled and come out of the rad..
