Engine/Gearbox noise

Hi guys,

Some of you may know that after a fair bit of work my Clio finally passed it's MOT a few days back.
Well, that happiness and relief has been short-lived, as the Clio has decided to stab me in the back and throw this one at me

In fairness that video makes it sound worse than it actually is, but it's still annoying as hell and I'm pretty sure it's only getting louder?

Can also hear it under deceleration, however as soon as you dip the clutch or back on the accelerator pedal, it goes away?
What we thinking?

Gear changes still feel slick though, and the clutch isn't slipping. God knows

7 seconds of blackness and I have no idea of what is going on.
Can you do 2 or 3 minutes of actually driving, up/down through the gears, on/off the throttle etc.
If this noise all but disappears in 5th gear, you are not going to like the answer.

Try again now lads, made the video public. Steve, I can’t double check right now, but I’m pretty sure the noise remains in every gear, including 5th gear once letting off the accelerator and decelerating. What were you thinking?

Gearbox mainshaft bearings on the way out?
Vid? remains as I originally described before flicking straight into some quite decent music tracks.

Haha, not sure why it's playing videos from that playlist. I've got another video for you, may be a bit more useful. I've tried filming whilst driving (naughty naughty) but the car is just too loud you can't pick it up (induction kit & stripped out). Please turn the sound up.



Could maybe @MicKPM have a quick look? I appreciate being a professional you'd like to hear it in person before any diagnosing, but any idea from a specialist for now would be nice. If it is something like a gearbox rebuild or a new box altogether, I'd like to take it to someone who knows that they're doing.

One thing I've noticed, is it seems to get louder once the engine as warmed up. Could a fresh set of gear oil maybe solve the issue or just extent the life of the box for no?

No prob, iphone microphone isn't too great I know the video is really quiet for some reason.
I am leaning towards taking the car, once new year holidays are over and I can get away from work for an hour or so.

Cheers for the offer Mick, I'm busy this weekend myself unfortunately.
Gonna swap the gearbox oil over later this week see if that cures the problem, not holding my breath though, maybe next Saturday I'll pop round if that's not an issue.
